Type I accounts for ∼90% of patients with CRPS, is associated with the absence of direct injury to a peripheral nerve, and is also known as reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD). 4 Type II is associated with the direct injury to a peripheral nerve and is also known as causalgia.
